NEWS APRIL 2008

Please note that I have now decided to stop breeding

Hi, my name's Beverley Barry, I live in Long Eaton in Nottingham with my husband and two boys, and of course my 3 British Shorthair girls.

About 10 years ago, before I had my children, I picked up a cat magazine and saw on the cover a beautiful big teddybear of a cat,a British Shorthair. I fell in love straight away, and began to find information about this wonderful breed. However it wasn't until January 2006, that I finally got round to taking this love affair that step further and started to consider breeding this fabulous cat.

I began attending cat shows, purely as a spectator so as to see for myself the variety and standard of BSH that was out there. It was amazing to see these cats up close and to see their actual size,some of them nearly filling the show pens they were in!

I also completed and passed a home studies cat breeding course that is offered by the Animal Care College, this was really usefull to me and has given me a real insight to the cats pregnancy and kitten development and health issues.

During this time I also contacted various other BSH breeders, and would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their help and time and constant support should I need it;

Elaine Crookes - Jaredale British Shorthairs

Mary Wallington - Trystly British Shorthairs

Lin Church - Churchbelles British Shorthairs

Colette Freeman - Colmarc British Shorthairs

Anne Edney - Rocadanne British Shorthairs & Bombay Cats & Kittens
